MFKZT is a collaboration between writer-director Matt Farrell and Buy Muy Drugs (Denmark Vessey x Azarias) that will explore the themes and characters that fueled the production of BMD's upcoming self-titled album.

 

MFKZT is an ancient Egyptian term for a transcendental substance that some believe was rediscovered by an American farmer in the late 1970s.  Over the past decade, a movement of devoted practitioners has developed through the internet to the point where ORMUS / Monatomic Gold is now widely available through online retail. Believers claim the mysterious white powder has a lineage through alchemy, the manna encountered by the Hebrews in exile, the Egyptian priesthood, early Sumerian civilization, on to visitors from Nibiru.

 

MFKZT and Buy Muy Drugs aim to explore the thematic resonances of this mythology, both as a salve for filling the void of meaning in post-industrial society and as it relates to the hypocrisy of a violent war on drugs staged in the context of a booming pharmaceutical industry and an increasingly legally medicated population.

 

The film will be framed as a pseudo-documentary, colliding found footage with produced segments that introduce characters voiced in the album and scored by Buy Muy Drugs.
